"Expeditious programmers"

      Jessa Mercado

Into programming is a competition here at STI Calamba. It aims to recognize the potentials of STI students in field of programming. It also enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure and gives them the preparation for cluster.

Four (4) problem statements will be given to the competing students all at the same time which they need to solve in three (3) hours. They are given an example of test data, but they do not have access to the judges’ test data and acceptance criteria. Each incorrect solution submitted is assessed a time penalty. The student that solves the most problems in the fewest attempts in the least cumulative time is declared winner.

Each students has a work station, a time keeper, and 4 (four) flags. Each flag they will raise is the problem they solve. Orange flag is problem 1 (one), blue flag is problem 2 (two), green flag is problem 3 (three) and yellow flag is problem 4 (four). Every correct answer they have; will receive a red flag. The tricky part to win this competition is to solve all the 4 (four) problems in just a short span of time.

There are 4 (four) qualified courses to join this competition; BSIT, BSCpe, BSCs and also BSAT; if you’re willing to put your programming skills to the test.

So who will be the champion that will walk home with a medal and a certificate? Or a loser who will receive a certificate of participation but is eager to study hard and join this competition next year?
