"STI Calamba: Tagisan ng Talino 2017    A Teaching Innovation"

        STI College Calamba held an annual program known as "Tagisan ng Talino" on January 9, 2017, that utilizes student's knowledge and skills. It is composed of contests that are suitable for various of courses. Contests such as Essay does it, INTO programming, App and running, Stand up and deliver, Worth the whisk, All in place, Think quest, Chef express, Shutters best.

 

        This event is a good circumstance to students, because they tend to be more serious and motivated in winning. It serves as one of creative ways to teach students aside from their regular classes. The event's objective is to let their students showcase their talent, knowledge, skills, and character. Mechanics and rules in each game are formed. It is facilitated by STI Calamba Instructors themselves. It is an equal opportunity to compete between students of college department and senior high school department, for them to be prepared when they step on the real world.

 

        This is the type of school event that is beneficial to students. Although to some, it may be simple and typical contest still, it is an effective training ground for them. Having many participants also shows the value of interest of the students.

   

      Joining this event teach student sportsmanship, motivation, confidence, and also cooperation. It lets student to be independent, to be confident when competing to others. This kind of event is not only beneficial to students, but to the institution also. Giving quality education to its student is an obligation. To establish a good brand appeal for the school.

 

        Schools should continue creating events like the "Tagisan ng Talino," this is for the development of students and also institution. This is a good step to produce graduates that are productive. Youth is the future hope on the society.
