"Hardship is the key to your Success"

    Fely Rose Melchor

"Nothing is impossible if you are really determined to reach your

dreams. If it’s really your passion, nothing will get hard for you.”

Aside from being a teacher, Mr. Bete is a game developer. He has a group that creating a new version of an old application game for educational purposes. As a game developer, he use it as an inspiration in his teaching career.

As the conversation continues, he opened up his life when he’s still a student. He admit that he has been a bad student in his high school days. He always goes to school late, ditching his classes and when the worst comes worst, the principal had no choice but to report him at the guidance and call his mother. His mother made a decision that he should live with his father because he is the only one who can discipline him. Then days and months after, he realized all his mistakes and decided to make a good out of himself.

Before we end our conversation, he shared his thoughts about being a teacher is all about.

“I think my idea about that matter is like what my professor stated, That schools who don't require an entrance exam to those who are aspiring to study in a certain university are much better than those who do, for they only choose those who are what we call "the brightest of their kind" for me, it seems like they are disregarding the capabilities of those who weren't chosen, I mean they could still improve right? That's why a teacher exists, and a teacher's role is to push her students to strive for the best.”

These are the inspiring words from Mr. Astley Bete,a

21 years old teacher of STI College Calamba. He started

teaching in the year of 2016, graduated in Bachelor of Computer Science at STI College Calamba. He said that teaching is his first step on his dream career. Having good friends, good grades and thesis are

the things that he achieved.
