         “Tagisan ng Talino” is a program in STI College Calamba that was held on January 9, 2017 at multipurpose area. It is hosted by Sir JC Corpuz, Sir Ronell Samante and Ms. Joanna Mariz Alcachupas. This is an annual event of STI Calamba where students are allowed to participate with mind, heart, confidence and focus in the competition. “Tagisan ng Talino" is divided into different competitions where students can develop their skills and talent that are given to them.

                Most of the students watched the “Stand Up and Deliver” competition and they listened to it carefully. All contestants were asked by one question only, “Discuss the characteristics of the 21st century learners?”

 

             Ms. Hannah Nicole B. Pioquip from ABM (Senior High student) got the award on winning in the “Stand up and Deliver.” She caught the attention of everyone especially the judges because her idea was focused in technology, the main source of getting information for home works and other references. She said that “Technology is the fundamental basis in learning. Technology has a great impact for us, different from others. This is a new educational system.” She delivered her speech confidently and meaningful that’s why she succeeds.

             The other competitor’s answers are also inspiring; they used their ability as a student to stand out, to be a better citizen and to value education. One of them talked about the beauty and art of the 21st century, the happiness and satisfaction of people nowadays. That everything is possible right now because of the mind of many people, just keep on going and learn to be thankful. Many audiences got inspired to their speeches that full of knowledge.

              

              Ms. Maria Johanna Agawin and Mr. Jehremy Bello (ABCOMM students) also joined the competition. They bring their confidence and bright idea on the stage. Ms. Johanna shared her opinion saying, “People should have the ability to adapt and ability to innovate and construct new learnings.” While Mr. Bello said that "The reality now for many students are depending the information based on the internet. They do not use books because books are more accurate than the internet."

              Everyone did their best and discuss the topic briefly. Everything now is modern and innovated. Congratulations to the winners from the different programs of "Tagisan ng Talino" 2017.
